In early 2005, Matrix OZIK Altus may have been the first true high-launch, low-spin, and high ball-speed shaft ever created. In 2007, Altus got a facelift with the inclusion of new XCON technologies. The resulting Matrix OZIK XCON Altus and XCON Altus “Low Torque” feature the same unique bias rolling method, full length Zylon, and Boron-enhanced tip section combined with XCON efficiency and stability ideas. Players bagging OZIK XCON Altus should be prepared for ultra-smooth feel with a high-launch, low-spin ball flight.

Matrix OZIK XCON Altus Hybrid has quickly become one of the most used hybrid shafts on the PGA Tour, including three users in 2007’s end-of-the-year world Top 10 and the #1 player on the European Order of Merit. The bias rolling pattern and full length Zylon are left out of Altus Hybrid, leaving a highly efficient, high launch performance design with more stability for utilities.
